🔐 Locksmith Service Policy

This policy is designed to protect both our clients and our technicians. By booking a service, the client agrees to the terms below.

Effective Date: December 24, 2025


1. Service Confirmation & Cancellation Policy

  • Once a service is confirmed, our technician prepares and reserves time immediately.

  • We provide a grace period of 10 minutes from the time of booking for cancellations.

  • If the technician has already started preparing or traveling, cancellations are not permitted.

  • Mid‑route cancellations are not accepted.

Cancellation Charges

  • After the grace period, a full service and labor charge applies.

  • Minimum billable time due to cancellation or no‑show: 45 minutes.

  • This policy exists because emergency calls require immediate action and prevent us from serving other clients.


2. Arrival & Dispatch Policy

  • We do not leave the office immediately in the first few minutes to allow clients a short grace period.

  • Once dispatched, the call is considered active and billable.

  • Emergency response times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, weather, or workload.


3. Pricing Transparency & Estimates

  • We always provide an estimate before dispatch to avoid misunderstandings.

  • The quoted price is the price that will be charged, even if:

    • The job is quicker than expected

    • Minor additional work is required

  • We do not raise prices unexpectedly.

  • Prices exclude parts unless stated otherwise.

  • Taxes are extra.

We respect all clients. While we believe clients are important, technical realities must be respected.


4. Warranty Policy

🔧 Labor Warranty

  • 90 days warranty on labor for all services.

  • 90 days labor warranty on new installations.

🔒 Parts & Hardware Warranty

  • Manufacturer warranty applies (usually up to 1 year, depending on brand).

  • Warranty does not cover:

    • Normal wear and tear

    • Weather-related issues

    • Misuse, abuse, or third-party modifications

Important Climate Disclaimer (Quebec)

Quebec weather (hot summers, cold winters) causes doors and frames to expand and contract.
A lock may work perfectly at installation and later feel different due to:

  • Temperature changes

  • Building movement

  • Door/frame shifting

For this reason, we cannot guarantee free replacement or adjustment years later.


5. Service Rates (Before Taxes)

📍 Montréal

  • Emergency – Same Day (Daytime):
    $290 + taxes (first hour)

  • Appointment (Non‑Emergency):
    $240 + taxes (first hour)

🌆 Outside Montréal

(Laval, Longueuil, Repentigny, Vaudreuil, etc.)

  • Additional travel charge: +$50

⏰ After Hours / Holidays

  • After hours rate: $340 + taxes

  • Parts not included


6. Lockout Policy

  • Standard lockouts apply only to standard residential locks.

  • High‑security locks include but are not limited to:

    • Medeco

    • Mul‑T‑Lock

    • Abloy

    • Mul‑T‑Lock Interactive / CX5

    • Mul‑T‑Lock 06 keyway

    • Imitations: CanStar, UsStar, NorthStar, Maxtech

⚠️ High‑security lockouts may:

  • Require drilling or damage

  • Cost more than standard lockouts

  • Not be damage‑free


7. CAA Québec Policy

  • Client must contact CAA Québec directly to open a service request.

  • CAA then contacts us with approval.

  • Client must provide:

    • Valid CAA membership card

    • Proof of address

  • If card is unavailable, the CAA number is acceptable if already approved.

CAA Restrictions

  • Discount applies only to opening a standard lock

  • No installation included

  • Strictly prohibited:

    • Opening neighbor, friend, or third‑party properties

  • High‑security locks may require damage and additional charges

  • CAA waiting time may be up to 90 minutes

Clients must remain patient during CAA call processing.


8. Client Responsibility

  • Client must ensure legal access to the property.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if ownership or authorization cannot be confirmed.

  • Any false information may result in service refusal with applicable charges.


9. Policy Updates

  • This policy may be updated weekly or monthly without prior notice.

  • The version active at the time of booking applies.
